Quality Education For Rescued And Local Children

Education Is A Primary Means Of Change
Omo Primary School - Serving Mingi and Local Children
OMO CHILD
For Omo Child founder Lale Labuko, education was the primary means of changing his view of Mingi as well as giving him the opportunity to better his life and the lives of those in his community.

Education can save lives. For this reason, he founded Omo Primary School, which is located on the Omo Child campus in Jinka.

Omo Primary School opened in the autumn of 2020, enrolling 25 Mingi children and over 200 children from the local community. Demand for primary education is high, with over 1000 requests for admission.

An additional classroom block is being built in summer of 2021, which will allow an additional 100 children to receive a quality primary education.

In addition, the school serves as a source of revenue, increasing Omo Child's sustainability and helping rescue and care for additional Mingi children.

Help Us Buy The Bus!

A bus will enable us to bring an additional 60 children to school each day.
The Omo Child campus is on the edge of the city of Jinka. For this reason, the over 200 local children travel to Omo Primary School by bus.

Currently, Omo Child rents the two busses that transport the children. With the addition of a third classroom block this summer, a third bus is needed to bring children to school.

Instead of renting a third bus, we are raising funds to purchase a bus. This will not only enable more children to come to school each day, but also give flexibility for transporting the 52 Omo Children to activities.
